"What's the nerdiest thing about you?"
*Looks conspicuously at HP pic* It would have to be my obsession with Harry Potter. I love the series, and I got into it before my Freshman year in high school. For some reason, I could relate to an 11 year old kid... who WOULDN'T be up for that kind of an adventure? Saving the world from dark wizards... and then the movies came out, I was TOTALLY finished after that... ;D It's all in fun, as they say.
Oh yeah, then there is the book thing... I'm always stuck in a book. I suppose a lot of young people might find that nerdy, but I don't believe that's nerdy, necessarily. I just like to read. A lot.

According to this meme, I am a RAVENCLAW through and through. *snorts in disbelief* I always thought smart kids got put in there... I'm not exactly Einstein, yo...
Like the meme listed at Lindsey's (fakepopcornbutter's) blog:
Katie Needs:
- ...a source for all my Katie needs! apparently, I'm fresh out of Katie Holmes merch.
- ... to "grow up" and give up the things of childhood. (haha, yeah right) ... Katie needs a real man, not someone who believes in aliens. I admit, they DO have a point...
- ... to figure out if she wants to move forward, maintain old friends, ... wow, this meme is a seer!
- ... a girl. um, no.
- ... help with setup/representing ASA beginning at 3pm... mother ship... is that you?!
- ... to use the litter pan on her own... my personal favorite, so much easier than toilet training!
- ... a loving, happy LIVE-IN Nanny to help take care of her right away! no, I think I need a male-order husband, rofl
- ... a home. and to think, I thought I already had one... :(
- ... a place to live!!! I thought we established that already?
"What albums are in heavy rotation for you right now?"
Hmm... I wouldn't say albums for me. I like to listen to songs by various artists on WMP. Depending on my mood, I'll listen to rock, rap, alternative, oldies, whatever.
It's more of a genre/feeling thing for me, as I usually don't buy a lot of cd's.
I am NOT a part of the Dell Battery Return Program! Woo hoo! I urge my fellow Dell users that if you have gotten a laptop within this past year, or a new battery for your laptop, to check it out.
Finding the battery was not as hard as I imagined (yes people, I am semi-techonologically-illiterate). Why didn't I just check the Dell Owner's Manual? I don't know, I suppose it's because I'm a bit of a button pusher... I can't resist just TRYING something, you know? At least I found it without damaging my laptop. *L*
One of my friend's also has a Dell laptop... I wonder if she has to send her battery back?
A thing I wasn't clear about on their website - I left the website after I learned I didn't need to send mine back, but I was unsure whether they sent you a new one for free (as I figured a company responsible should) or you had to purchase a new battery. I assume they send you one for your specific laptop for free when they receive the defunct battery. Heh. I think I just answered my own question.
Hope anyone who reads my pointless post has a good day or evening! ;D
Another horrendous viewing of "A Knight's Tale" has made me think of another actor that I don't see as widely acknowledged as others. It could be that he is foreign; it also could be the fact that he plays the villian far more oft than the hero.
Regardless of these facts, I wanted to make more people aware of him.
His listing on IMDB (Internet Movie Database, for those that don't know): RS @ IMDb
To start, some pics which I will place the link to here, as I don't own any of the ones I just MSN'd (I can't call the MSN search "Googled" damn it!)
Rufus listed @ 'All the Queens' Men'
He's more than just a pretty face, ladies and gents. He's a legit actor. He's great! So why is he not receiving more acclaim here in the U.S.? Maybe it's that his roles aren't as substantial, I don't know. But it bugs me. And I'm still pissed he wasn't chosen as the new Bond for "Casino Royale"! Unless he refused the role, which would totally boggle my mind as to why someone would do that.
So therefore, I am writing about Rufus Sewell. At 4:15 am.
Another pic from my fav. movie of his -->Would you click me if I was the LAST KING on Earth? Isn't he just delicious in that movie?! Okay, so I have a bit of a drooling problem if I look at him for too long... leave me alone! *pouts*
But yes, I wanted to post this to just make people aware of him. Not that enough people AREN'T aware, it's just... I'm hoping you know what I mean.
The movies I've seen him in include:
- Charles II: The Power and the Passion (U.K. title); THE LAST KING (U.S. title) - (LOVED this one; this made me research Charles II and want to learn more about the man behind the women)
- Helen of Troy (saw this on t.v. - Agamemnon's a real bastard, isn't he?)
- Extreme Ops (this movie was ever-loving ridiculous, but it's worth a watch if you REALLY like Extreme snowboarding shots)
- Mermaid Chronicles Part 1: She Creature (looking back at the listings, I had forgotten I'd seen this one. Also pointless, though it was hilarious to watch)
- A Knight's Tale (Count Adhemar is totally hot, but a bastard. This movie is definitely teeny-bopper material if I ever saw one, but still good to review every once and awhile... or when TBS needs to play it at least 50 times a night for three days)
- Uncorked (USA video title) - (I thought this was a sweet movie, though substance is sorely lacking in the plot. Minnie Driver co-stars)
- The Very Thought of You (USA title) - (This movie was really decent for a romantic comedy. Check it out)
- Dark City (this movie was the shizzle for me... I LOVED the ending, but I won't reveal the ending to you... let's just say I thought it was beautiful)
- Dangerous Beauty (this was a great period piece movie; he woos this courtesan, gets her, but what a trial they go through! I liked it)
- Henry IV - (great if you like a lot of Shakespeare. I saw parts of it, but it was boring for me)
- Carrington - (this movie has the ability to make people cry - bring tissues! Sad at times, the story about artist Dora Carrington. Rufus plays the artist Mark Gertler)
- Cold Comfort Farm - (this was a good movie, I really liked it - Rufus plays a country lad that has a bit of a crush on Hollywood, but it doesn't center around him. It centers around his rich female cousin who comes to live at the farm - she eventually helps the family out, in a sense discovering herself. Not as serious as it sounds, believe me!)
- Middlemarch - (can be a bit stagnant at some points, but a great period piece nonetheless, based on George Eliot's book "Middlemarch")
And that's it! Hope everyone has a great day, or evening, or w/e!
"What was the last wedding you went to? Were you in the wedding?"
The last wedding I went to was when I was 12 maybe? I might have been younger. It was for my dad's cousin's daughter, and I remember being frightened by all the women diving for the bouquet *shudders*. To this day, I won't get in on this wonderful tradition... it's like being sent into a pack of ravenous wolves with fresh, dangling meat tied to your body. Scary much?!
The other thing I didn't like about it was all the smoking going on at the reception. As an adult, I'm really not all that fussy about people smoking around me. Inside the reception hall, however, there were quite a few individuals, and not enough fresh air. Coupled with the heat, I had trouble breathing so I stood near the doorway. If I didn't I would get these massive coughing bouts, it was crazy!
And no, I was not in the wedding.
I'm in love with this guy. Is he, or is he not, one of the best actors out there?
Movies I've seen with him in them include:
- Harry Potter's 1-4 (Professor Snape is hot.)
- Love Actually (such a sweet movie, really great!)
- Galaxy Quest (I wished his character had more screen time)
- Sense and Sensibility (one of my fav. movies - Col. Brandon is my future husband - *snorts* - I wish)
- Mesmer (that Anton Mesmer... he was a scandalous dude, he was... *rubs hands together evilly*)
- Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (if it weren't for the Sheriff of Nottingham, [Bless you, Alan!] this movie would be lost - he was so wonderfully maniacal, it was scary)
- Truly, Madly, Deeply (it was okay, but I missed Jamie when he was gone - I need to watch this again)
- Die Hard (as Hans Gruber, he kicked a** and took names! So hot, he really looked like he stepped off a menswear catalog - *tongue wags*)
- ***Dogma (I've seen parts of it, wasn't crazy about it, though, but Metatron's spiked hair? Crazy!)
*** means edit
And that's all of the one's I've watched. I had to get most of them through Netflix, as some of the local rental places don't carry them! *stews in anger*
Also, some of the movies I want to watch aren't on DVD yet, at least, not that I'm aware of. I REALLY want to see "January Man" and especially "Dark Harbor", I've heard nothing but good things about that one. Same with "Blow Dry"... at least I can check out some of the trailers.
VHS isn't a viable option for me, due to the fact that I gave the parents my VCR. So... must track down DVD's, if they are even being produced yet! There are so many movies... I wish you could request that certain DVD's be produced... I mean, if there is enough customer demand, I'm sure some places would surely budge on this, would they not?
Or maybe I'm just talking out my a**.
I'm digressing again...
Thank you, Alan Rickman, for creating and continuing to create, some of the most memorable characters yet on the big screen! I look forward to watching more movies with you in them!! *hugs HP movies 1-3*
"What's your morning beverage of choice? Coffee, tea, juice? Homemade or store-bought?"
Well, it certainly isn't Folgers... rofl... soda is what I usually drink. Diet, mind you, I know it isn't good for me... lol! I'm not big on o.j., it's usually whatever I have in the fridge. :S

Thanks! :D I haven't read much of Shakespeare's, unfortunately. Only "Hamlet" and "Romeo and Juliet", stuff you might come by... read more
on I'm such a nerd because...
